WHO:  The President of the Press Union of Liberia, Charles B. Coffey, Jr. will lead the special retreat of media executives.

BACKGROUND:

Liberia’s Economy is in trouble, so is the media economy. Government is face with cash shortage and has not paid public sector employees for months. This has contributed to a rapid decline in public spending thus affecting smaller businesses of which the Liberian Media is a part. Revenue intake in the media sector has plummeted as a direct result of the underperformance of the national economy.

The Special Retreat of Media Executives intents to source ideas that will help to find alternatives aimed at addressing the problems in the national and media economies in the short and medium term.
