(Monrovia, May 19, 2015): The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has announced with great sadness the death of Journalist Herbert Johnson.The Liberian journalist died on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the John F. Kennedy Medical Hospital in Monrovia, as a result of a liver disease, family members said.
The PUL has expressed deep condolences to his family, saying that Herbert Johnson was a career media professional who played a role in the democratic process of his country.
“Herbert will truly be missed by his colleagues for his role in reporting stories that affect our society,” PUL Secretary General D. Kaihenneh Sengbeh said.
Herbert previously managed the Diary Newspaper and lately the Option, which he oversaw until his death. Besides, Herbert served as Press Attaché to former President Pro Tempore Cletus Wortorson and Media Consultant at the Liberia Telecommunications Authority.
His remains have been deposited at the Abraham Roberts Funeral Home pending burial arrangements, family members said.
