Monrovia, May 27, 2015: The Press Union of Liberia will hold its annual awards night and dinner on July 10, 2015.

The Press Union of Liberia annually organizes the awards night and dinner to recognize journalists and media institutions that perform exceptionally across the previous year as the climax of World Press Freedom Day celebrations.

In preparation for the event, more than 40 journalists have already submitted entries for the various Individual Themed awards in such areas as the reporting the Legislature, Human Rights, Women Rights, Sports, Health , Investigations, Development, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, the Environment, Business & the Economy, the Judiciary and Photojournalism.

The Press Union of Liberia will also provide Institutional Awards for Radio Stations, Community Radio Station Newspapers and TV Stations of the year, as well as the high profile Journalist of the Year.

Already, the Press Union of Liberia has invited all media institutions to provide the basis for the institutional awards, and is continuing with resource mobilization to ensure that the Annual Awards Event comes up with the spark that it deserves.
