(Monrovia, December 18, 2019)- The Press Union of Liberia has announced that all is now ready for the induction of its new codes of officials scheduled for Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.
The event will start at 6:00 P.M prompt at the Ministerial Complex and is expected to bring together journalists, former leaders of the PUL, media development practitioners, government officials, and members of the aid community in Liberia.
Those to be inducted are: Incumbent PUL President, Charles B. Coffey, Jr., Daniel Nyakonah, Jr.- Current Secretary General as Vice President, Musa Kanneh as Secretary General and Akoi M. Baysah, Jr- Assistant Secretary General.
Elections are held in the Press Union of Liberia after every three years as part of a congress which take stock of the operating environment of the media in Liberia and as well diagnose challenges and innovate antidote for the good of truth telling.
Finance and Development Plaining Minister, Samuel Tweh will serve as keynote speaker at the induction of new leaders of the Press Union of Liberia on Friday. Tweh has been Liberia’s Finance Minister since January of 2018 and is face with the daunting task of resuscitating the country’s cash strapped economy as head of Government’s Economic Management Team.
