The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) is pleased to release its Forth Quarterly Alert Report.
The PUL Alert Program tracks and documents attacks and threats against journalists and media workers in Liberia.
This Alert Report covers the period between January and March of 2018 and marks the First Anniversary of the tracking of attacks and threats against journalists.
It can be recalled that the Media Alert Office was formally established by the Press Union of Liberia and USAIDS/INTERNEWS in April 2017, to track issues of threats, violations against the rights of journalists, offenses on free expression, including matters relative to content improvement.
The Media Alert Office was born out of the desire to critically collate, and analyze attacks, threats and intimidations of journalists and as well document the operating environment of the media in Liberia.
The tracking process is part of the PUL ongoing Media Development Program being supported by USAID/INTERNEWS and other media development partners.
As we speak, the tracking process is continuing for the 5th Quarter and will officially be released at the end of June 2018.
