The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) in partnership with the British based group Global Justice and Research Project held a one day symposium at the headquarters of the PUL on 44 Clay Street in Monrovia. The symposium brought together fifteen news editors from both electronic and print media. The event was held on February 16, 2018, as part of the ongoing activities of Global Justice and Research Project for the development of journalists in reporting on war crimes issues. The theme of the symposium was "Understanding Reporting War Related Crimes."

At the opening of the training, the PUL President Charles B. Coffey welcomed the editors and encouraged them to take the training serious as it will help strengthen their capacities in reporting on war crimes cases. He lauded the Global Justice and Research Project for training media practitioners and the development of the human resource capacity.

For his part, Mr. Hassan Bility, of the Global Justice and Research Project, appreciated the PUL for partnering with his institution to conduct the symposium for editors. He further stressed that such training will incorporate larger number of journalists as they continue their work in Liberia.
