Monrovia, April 11, 2014: The Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) and the Liberia Football Association (LFA) have mutually agreed 
to immediately cut off the blackouts placed upon each other in the follow up to the LFA Congress in Buchanan.

The decision followed a 4-hour mediation effort at the Headquarters of the Press Union of Liberia in Monrovia.

During the discussions, the two organizations reaffirmed their commitment to working together in promoting football in Liberia.

Both organizations agreed that black-outs do not support media growth or football development in Liberia, and called for greater engagements 
that will make their work more successful.

The resolution of the misunderstanding also recognized that both the Sports Writers' Association and the Liberia Football Association were hasty in calling the blackouts, and acted without reference to a standing Memorandum of Understanding between both organizations.

The organizations also called for a review of the current MoU at a mutually agreed date, whereby the agreement will be made more 
practical and realistic.

The LFA was represented at the session by its President Musa Bility, PRO Henry Flomo and Security Chief Victor Gboyah; SWAL was represented by its President Roland Mulbah, Zoegar Jaynes and Eddie Harmon, while PUL President Abdullai Kamara and Vice President Jallah Grayfield led the mediation.

Following the decision, PUL President Abdullai Kamara admonished both organizations to allow mutual respect to guide their future 
collaborations, noting that we can only be successful if we work together.

Mr. Kamara noted that organizations which have mutual interests need to continuously review their terms of engagements, so as to be guided 
in how to move forward.
